Season four-Monk came back to screen with season four on 8^th July, 2005. In the very first episode, Mr. Monk encountered a rival detective investigating the same case, he’s working upon. It’s Marty Eels, who is so sharp that he aims the evidences, before Monk notices them. But in the end, it is discovered that he was taking help of his mother, and then the ruthful detective begs for help from Monk, when his mother is under threat, due to his fraudulence. In the same season, Monk visits his Brother Ambrose’s home and reunites with his long lost father. In third episode, while Monk is ill, Natalie investigates on his behalf and puts her life in danger, and undoubtedly, Monk has to step in.

This season, Monk is the target of cupid’s kindness, as two women claim to be his wives. To everybody’s amusement, a woman is witnessed claiming herself Monk’s wife Trudy and tells that she had faked her death to save her family from extremist group, who planned that car bombing. Everybody believes, because she looks exactly like Trudy. But at last, is seen lingering around a murdered man.

In another episode, Monk is being hit on his head and awakes in another State, suffering with memory loss. Another woman claims to be his wife over there and Mr. Monk starts living with her, until he regains his memory.

An entire episode was dedicated to Christmas, and Mr. Monk plans a surprise gift for Stottlemeyer at his Christmas party. But thanks to Monk’s destiny, it offsets another murder. In this season, Monk encounters many interesting cases; he goes to a Fashion show, meets an Astronaut and a dentist. In the finale episode, he debates with the jury in the courtroom and much more.

This season earned glorious ratings for the show. This is the best rated episode. In this episode, Valarie comes across a woman. She looks exactly like Trudy and claims to be Trudy. She tells that she faked her death to save her family from the extremist group and this group might have planned that Car bombing. Undoubtedly this is enough to cheer Monk up, but Valarie suspects that here is something wrong, and in the end fake Trudy is found hovering around the body of a murdered man named Elinghouse.
