Season 2

Season two-The most awaited, hilarious and supersensitive detective comes back to screen with another season full of laughter and adventure. In this season, he acquires much more interesting cases to solve. In first episode, he had to revisit his school to solve a murder case of a teacher, which was assumed a suicide case. In the second episode, he had to visit Mexico to investigate a murder. The victim is the son of a close friend of Mayor, of San Francisco. In further episodes, he again associates homicide of a couple with a Baseball star, and in the end proves himself right.

In another investigation, he is called to solve the murder case in a circus. The eye-witness says that the masked killer jumped off the rooftop and performed somersault after crime. But the prime suspect has got foot injury from one week prior to the murder. Eventually, Monk nabs the killer.

In fifth episode, captain Stottlemeyer makes the entry and Monk associates an old man’s murder with five year old hit-and-run case. This happens to be the only unsolved case in Stottlemeyer’s record.

In sixth episode, Sharona’s younger sister Gail is introduced. She is an actress and is the prime suspect of murder of her leading man during a stage performance. In ‘Mr. Monk and the sleeping suspect” Adrian has to solve a murder mystery, in which the suspect is in coma from several months due to an accident. In another murder case, Monk finds nude photographs of Sharona in an old magazine edition, when she was doing nude modeling.

In this season, Monk reunites with his brother Amborse. They were not talking since the death of Trudy, because Amborse thinks that he is responsible for her death as she was in marketplace to buy medicines for him. In the finale episode, Monk has to go undercover to solve a murder case of an inmate and the episode ends with his investigation of Trudy’s murder.

Best Episode- Mr. Monk Goes to Theatre

This was the best rated episode of this season. In this episode, Sharona’s sister Gail is introduced. Gail is a stage actress and happens to be the prime suspect of a murder committed in the mid of her stage performance. While trying to clear her name, Monk joins a ‘Speed Dating’ service and deals with his phobia of crowd, while being pressed into service as an actor. The entire episode is full of fun and revolves around Sharona’s family, as her authoritarian mother too makes appearance in this episode.
