Sharona Fleming- Sharona is a divorced, registered nurse from New Jersey and mother of a young son, Benjy. She married just after high school, but things didn’t go well and she was left with an infant son to raise on her own. For this purpose, she utilized her attractiveness and did some nude modeling under nom de guerre in Atlantic City.

She came in Adrian’s life as a nurse while he was in catatonic state, after his wife’s death. But later, when Adrian started working as a consulting Detective, she started assisting him. She used her sex appeal to get information, wherever Monk could not. She also helped Monk by doing all those things, which his phobias and disorders didn’t allow him to do. It is shown that she’s also suffering from phobia of elephants, since she had seen a girl falling into elephant pit, when she was seven year old.

She quits Monk’s job twice due to salary dispute, which becomes the running gag of the show. Finally in 2004, she left his job forever to remarry her ex-husband and father of her son.

Life and Career- She is known for her two popular roles, first in “A League of their Own” in 1992 as Evelyn, the baseball playing mother, who mistakenly cries in front of Manager Tom Hanks during a tournament. Her second popular role is in ‘Monk’ as Sharona Fleming. This role brought her a nomination for Golden Globe Award. She has graduated in advertising design at the University of Maryland on a Tennis scholarship. She has worked in films, Television and Broadway theatre. She was actually, terminated from the show due to her bid for salary increment. Then her character was replaced by Natalie Teeger, portrayed by Traylor Howard.

She is an accomplished stage actress as well. She also appeared among original cast members of Neil Simon’s Broadway production “Laughter on the 23^rd Floor”. She has worked with many popular actors like Nathan Lane, Tom Hanks, Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney, Diane Keaton and Kathy Bates.
