The Germ Phobic Monk Goes Green!
December 22nd, 2011It’s that time of the year, when you start thinking about the presents you’d like to give to your near and dear ones for Christmas.

But, what if you thought a little out-of-the box this time, and gifted something that’s good for the environment as well?
This is what the latest venture of The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is all about.
And that’s the reason why Tony Shalhoub, of Monk fame, is supporting this noble cause.
Tony Shalhoub plays the central character of Adrian Monk in this show. Monk is a brilliant homicide detective, but with his own share of weird habits and fears. He suffers from an obsessive compulsive disorder and is known for his extreme phobias to unassuming things such as milk, crowds, snakes and heights.
Tony does a commendable job portraying the complex emotions of the disturbed yet intelligent detective, who is often haunted by the unsolved case of the murder of his own wife.
Catch Monk episodes to get a glimpse of a day in the life of Adrian Monk.
Coming back to NRDC’s new environment friendly venture – this campaign will include a series of advertisements, featuring popular celebrities like Kyra Sedgwick and Tony Shalhoub.
The name of the campaign is “Green Gifts”.
The campaign offers gifting options to one and all, which will contribute towards several environmental causes like wildlife conservation, clean energy production and more.
There are more extravagant options as well, such as a four-night visit at the last untouched Gray Whale Nursery or a Photo Safari with Tom Murphy.
So, this holiday season, opt for “Green Gifts” and make a contribution towards saving the environment, while maintaining the true joy of gifting.
Looks like the germ phobic Adrian Monk finally decided to get over his obsessive-compulsions in order to go green and support the noble cause of creating a healthier environment!
Way to go dude!
